Jan 8, 2006 [Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] A hazy brown beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also with lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet flowery combined with notes of caramel, leading to a slightly roasted and acidic end.

Nut brown. Aroma of grass and anise. Dry and light bodied, yet firm and soft. Hoppy with a touch of lingonberries. Roasty and somewhat bready, salty finish with lingering bitterness. An excellent session beer!

Feb 3, 2005 Cask at the Market Porter, Borough Market, London. With Chris_o and joet. Fairly dry ’ordinary’ with flat malt and trace fruity elements. Lacks any discernable character but is not unpleasent.
