Bottle from Sainsburys. Chestnut red coloured with a small, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and earthy hops with a touch of spiciness. Flavour was sweetish with plenty of red fruit, more earthiness and a decent bitter finish. Good.

Bottle. Golden and quite lively upon opening. Unusual distinctive flavour that leaves quickly. No aftertaste and all round quite strange.Different but not too sure if it was that pleasant.

maeib (6618) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JUL 5, 2009
Bottled A ruby coloured beer with a decent white head. The aroma is fruity with berry notes and a bit of wood. The taste is more of the same with a bit of straw. Too malty chewy for its own good.

DruncanVeasey (5136) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2008 Sainsbury’s again. Clear chestnut, rim of white. Nil lace. Sourish cask wood, leafy aroma hop, chocolate. Clean malty caramel, wood, milky nuttiness, but with a firm soapy hop bitterness following on. Afters are nuts and choc. Above average, unspoiled pasteurised bitter with caramel and nutty leanings.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised from Sainsburys, Banbury. Copper coloured with short lasting, carbonated head. light carbonation throughout giving a wet paper aroma then a toffee / caramel body, a little sweet with a boiled pear drop note. Some maltiness, but overall a pretty average beer.

harrisoni (10067) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 8, 2008
Bottle from Sainsbury. Pale chestnut, no head. I guess it’s a mix of a best bitter and an ESB. Decent fruit and dry malt, but it’s been pastuerised to death. As I say the malty fruit is good, but the rest could well be better. Too much candy sugar. Some yeast.

Fin (5749) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 28, 2008
Bottle picked up at Sainsburys, Kidlington, Oxon, consumed 28-08-08 Pours copper in colour with an off white head. Has some slight sherry or port touches in here but also quite a lot of toffee malts, some vanilla also and finishes with a slight fruity simple bitter finish, quite like it but nothing wonderful.

evilsoc (191) - WALES - AUG 22, 2008
Copper red colour. I dont think this is over pasteurised at all. Tempting sweet and earthy aromas lead to a good, long lasting balance on the palate. The hop flavours sitting on top of the bitter sweet balance is also interesting. Decent.

Bottle 500ml. from Sainsburys, Christchurch. Really got to agree with Berkshire John on this one. Very disappointing.

berkshirejohn (3014) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 19, 2008
500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Copper with a thick cream head; spicy and earthy caramel aroma; unfortunately it’s over pasteurised and tastes of boiled fruit sweets; what little bitterness there is fights valiantly against the toffee sweetness of the malts, but loses.
