hughie (2415), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Apr 4, 2007 Cask at Pilgrim’s Progress (JDW), Bedford. Coppery amber with a small white head. Faint floral hop aroma. Fruit and hop taste, but just a bit too lively. Peachy aftertaste. Quite good. SilkTork (3950), Rochester, Kent, England Mar 23, 2007 JDW, RochesterA rounded, pleasing ale with woody notes and an attractive hop burn. Nothing special, and just a little too dry and bitter for my personal taste. MesandSim (4623), Highgate, Greater London, England Mar 14, 2007 A Mes rate:
Cask at Baker Street ’Spoons. Brown sugar with a bit of peach in the aroma. Copper coloured with almost zero head. Some fresh hoppy notes in the nose too. More hops and grassyness in the flavour with a delicate malty finish. One dimensional and rather boring. Typical run of the mill English ale. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Feb 5, 2007 Cask@The Lord Moon Of The Mall(JDW), Whitehall. NOt too much going on, but not necessarily unpleasant. Deepish amber. Balanced between hop and malt characters. Not much stands out thought, tastes like something i’ve had hundreds of times before. imdownthepub (4250), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jan 14, 2007 Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Brown amber with cream head. Malty light bittersweet beer with a thinnish hoppy body. Reasonable beer without going the extra mile.
