COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This little scounderel is an easy drinking lager. Subtle hoppy characters add a touch of fresh fruitiness but make no mistake this is a beer with bite and a clean, crisp taste that’s made for the Australian sun.

Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is malty, some cardboard and maybe some bread. Taste is light to medium sweet leading to an ordinary and uninspiring finish. This is what Aussie drinkers want, huh? That’s depressing.

Poured a clear pale golden amber colour with a thin white bubble head that diminished quickly and did not lace. Moderate carbonation. Aroma of sweet malt. Taste of sweet – too sweet – malt and no bitterness. Light body. Not a nice brew.

Bland boring plain ordinary Australian lager. Very light malty notes but otherwise just a boring quaffable session lager

330ml bottle. This one is just as bad as the 34 brew. Thin watery and oh so horrible.

As I pondered away on their Brew 34 I frowned again and thought ’Is this seriously the best two batches of countless that they came away with?’
Chilled and into a snifter - as directed by 87% of the Aussies surveyed for this venture. Admittedly it looks good in the glass. Billowing, fluffy white head; well maintained by the disorder of carbonation below. Translucent yellow straw is the body. Nose crimping eggy fart waft precedes notes of fresh baked bread, dank, tinny liquor and salted nut husks. Creamy mouthfeel, though very light and watery. Lemon citrus is dominant in the flavour, no finish. A little too detergent-esque for my liking leaving a film upon the palate long after consumption. Low hop; cardboard mid-riff; no essence or zeal. Just plain boring to be honest. Sigh! (33cL, BB 28/02/13, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

From a 330ml bottle on 12/8/2012. Pours a very light straw with a biggish bright white head. Has a very slight grassy, grainy aroma. Flavour wise, it’s truly horrible - stale vegetable and cardboard come to mind. Got this with some fancy, detailed advertising blurb about the brewers looking to brew the perfect lager, and needing help to work out whether it’s brew 51 or brew 34. It is certainly not brew 51, which gives me a new found respect for VB, which is positively flavour filled in comparison. About to try brew 34...

Seems to have a bit more body then the 34 but still seems thin. Maybe on a hot day I could get a stubbie off ice and enjoy it but in mid winter it is very average.

Minimal aroma. Pours slightly cloudy. Carb good. Light body, minimal flavour low to moderate bitterness.. Bland finish.

Slightly sweet, skunky aroma. pour is Pale straw with thin coarse white head. Flavour is sweet with a cardboard element, finish is a firm medium long bitterness. Not as good as the Brew 34 IMHO.
