Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 25, 2007 Bottle from Waitrose. A fairly bland schwarzbier, roasted malt, a touch metallic and a bit of smoke. I didn’t enjoy it. jeg (115), Austin, Texas, USA Aug 23, 2007 Updated: Aug 25, 2007Best Asian beer I’ve had yet, which isn’t saying much. Black color, very toasty-roasty sort of flavor. Fairly safe tasting but nothing special. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 20, 2007 Bottle at home from GBBF07 ... Deep brown black ... toasted oats and roast malts ... oats anf fruit ... roast malts ... tasty enough but unusal and distinctive. graham515 (420), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 16, 2007 Had really high hopes for this one but was pretty disappointed. The nose is non existent, which is sad because its one of my favorite things about a schwarz. The taste is mellow and non offensive but is way too safe. I found that I actually preferred the Asahi Super Dry to this brew. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Aug 7, 2007 I like this beer, and wish it were more widely available. A good representation of a Schwarzbier, with low carbonation and medium body. Taste of roasted malts and a slightly smoky aftertaste. johndoughty (2150), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jul 15, 2007 Black and slightly smoked. No carbonation and poured with a medium head.Medium body and a slightly roasted aftertaste. Impressive but not outstanding.
