Pours a nice black with a lovely cream colored head. Aroma is chocolate and a tinge of roasted malt. Flavor follows suit with a slightly coppery aftertaste that keeps this from being a great beer. Palate is watery. Not bad, but the aftertaste ruins it.

Apr 1, 2006 This schwarzbier pours a deep brown color from a 12oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head. Aroma is slightly coffee, roasted malt with a touch of cola. A medium to light bodied schwarzbier. Malts are roasty and slightly cola-ish. It’s a touch thin and watery, which helps accentuate the cola like flavors. The lively carbonation helps with that as well. Very drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is a touch thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Very dark redish brown in colour. Thick bubbly head to begin with, which dwindles after a while. Not bad, but not much to it for a 5%er, a bit on the thin side. Slightly dry in the after-taste. Not bad, if I was stuck in Japan with no Real Ale I’d be happy to drink a few of these.

Mar 13, 2006 Deep purple color, almost black with a small light tan head. Aroma is sweet with a hint of cola. Flavor starts sweet followed by a light black coffee bitterness and a touch of cola with a quick dry finish. Thin bodied with a watery texture and lively carbonation.
