Jan 6, 2006 Draft. Pours a red darker than a black steer’s touckus on a moonless night. Aroma is heavy of malt and notes of spice. Extremely smooth palate washes the tounge with a complex variety of flavours. Roasted barely, butterscotch, pepper, and a fast disolving bitter finish. True to japanese style of finishing quickly with little or no aftertaste.

Oct 13, 2005 [At Stockholm Beer Festival 2005] A red-brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet malty with light roasted notes and a dry slightly bitter end, but the body is thin. A nice Schwarzbier.

Aug 10, 2005 Bottle. Almost black beer with nice off white head. This soon disappears however. The aroma has some roasty notes but also a bit of metal. The taste is also a bit roasty, some caramel but it’s all a bit thin and metallic.

Aug 9, 2005 Bottle. Miniscule tan head vanished kind of quickly. Deep brown almost black color, vague light penetration. A bit of roast aroma. Smooth drinker, goes down easily. Sweet bitter chocolatey toasted flavor does not overwhelm. Carbonation just right. I’d drink it again.

Jul 18, 2005 Bottle. Pretty much sweet brown sugary sort of stuff. There is some light toastyness and roasted malt. Pretty smooth and all the rest of it (drinkable etc) but its just a little too thin and sweet or something. An average schwarz.

Jun 25, 2005 Burnt toffee nose, caramel flavour. Very clean and drinkable. It is also very well balanced, however, the head is a bit dissapointing.
