Only very weakly hopped. Carbonation blends well with the overall character of the beer: mild but slightly coarse. Overall, not terribly interesting. gfolivares (67), McAllen, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Pours a deep black/brown with a tan head. Nice appetizing aromas of caramel, cocoa, and dark bread. Light-medium mouthfeel with decent carbonation. Wounderful chocolaty malt taste gives way to sweet doughy finish with hints of dark fruit and coffee flavored toffee. Although the taste is a somewhat light interpretation for a schwarzbier, it is refreshing a easy to drink making it an excellent session beer. MiP (9065), Sønderborg, Denmark

Coca-cola aroma. Lively carbonation. Rich malty burnt body, but some cardboard too. A hint of chocolate later. A tad sweet, but not out of the bounds of Schwartz sweetness. (Oh, the comment in my Iki review was a troll, by the way.) joergen (8523), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Sweet malt aroma releases more chocolate notes as it warms. Black brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. More sweet malt in the flavour with some wood and chocolate coffee notes. Medium-full body is a little rough. Surprisingly refreshing and drinkable and pairs well with a sushi silver lunch boat.
