Asahi do the plain, ’barely there’ thing better than anyone else. Soft, watery, light on flavour, made for drinking with high class food, when the beer is all but an accompaniment much like a glass of water.

Can. Pours a clear gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma is crisp and yeasty, with malt, grass, and a hint of citrus. Taste of grassy yeast, malt, and a hint of hops. Lingering sharpness that fades. Decent.

Can. Grassy. Sweet, and bit full in the malt profile for this style. Clear, golden yellow, Lazy carbonation. Grassy flavors, some cereal, metallic, with a light bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium body. Not bad and not great.

Very clear golden coloured body with a very dense, thick off-white head and some small, yet very slow moving bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of apples, rice, malt, cardboard and some odd airy smells. Medium-bodied; Nice fresh and strong malt flavour with a hint of alcohol at the end and some rather assertive (for japanese) hop notes also. Aftertaste shows some fruity qualities with pears and apples definitely showing up. Overall, a surprisingly decent beer with some complexity for the style, but even better - defined malt flavours and some fruit and light hop tastes. I sampled this 350 mL can (very nice quality can, as well, glossy all over) purchased from GS25 in Seoul (Myendong), South Korea on 23-August-2010 sampled at home on the other side of the planet in Washington on 28-November-2011.
