Pours basic macro yellow with a white head. Aroma is that of a basic macro lager with some sweetness. Flavor is more of the same with a little more sweetness than you get with American macro lagers. You also get some hop bitterness, but it is subdued. Thin mouthfeel and highly carbonated. Not a terrible beer, but not something I think I will try again.

Pours a clear light straw with a touch of gold highlights. His white head fades rather quickly into a thin blanket which at least lingers through the majority of our session together. A steady stream of bubbles burst release a lively and crisp nose. As its namesake promised, his nose is noticeably on the dry side with lemon spritzer while grains freshly hulled from their husk are left out in the sun to dry. At the back of his nose is freshly mowed green grass drying in the sun. A flitter of key lime esters and sugar-coated lemon bars complete the nose and so, without further ado, I dive deep into his Super Dry depths. Not very dry, but his palate is faster than lightning because if I blink, I might just miss what I’m trying to taste. Like a flash, there is no front or finish to this beer, just a quick stab of flavor centered on the top of my tongue. Lemon bars, creamy grains, and a faint wisp of honey sweetness. Key lime shadows flit and flicker in the light of his quick-flash palate. Maybe that’s what the Super Dry is all about: a quick flash of flavor with nothing left to remind you of its presence. His mouthfeel is softer than I was expecting given all the Super Dry hype, which lends him a surprisingly soft and smooth mouthfeel which does little to actually dry my palate. A drain pour by no means, but through no manner of further quaffing will I discover any new lands of opportunity.

The Asahi Super Dry is alright so long as one doesn’t expect much of anything. I have concluded that Super Dry is equivalent to Super Quick which in-turn describes his palate perfectly. There was far more to enjoy in his nose than anywhere else, not by lack of flavor but by intensity of flavor with a satisfying finish.

Gold pour with white head. Light body and a clean finish, inoffensive. While a great complement for sushi/gari/wasabi, bereft on its own.

Same dinner, surprised to see a Japanese beer on an Indian dinner menu, but it was there so I figured why not. The beer was very light in flavor, very smooth with a slight astringency that seemed to replace the sweetness found in other pale lagers. I doubt I’d ever pick this up at a store, but for $3 a bottle, it was fine with me.

Little white vanishing head, pale clear yellow color. Little thin aroma, very short and rather unimpressive. Maybe herb and malty, if u have a trained nose. Just a bit metallic mouthfeel. Anonimous but i have drinked worse industrial beers.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to hug rim. Corn aromas. Sharp sour corn and adjuncts. Dry finish.
