1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Palme (2311) - Bergen, - MAR 7, 20110.33l bottle. Pours a clear pale body with the typical thin white lager head. Aroma is faint malt, dry water and dust. Funny, but this tastes nothing. Watery fizzing texture tasting water with perhaps a little sweet aftertaste. Not dry at all and definitely not super dry!
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Sperine (193) - North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Bottle at Sushi Zone in San Francisco, CA. Not terrible with my amazing meal. Probably wouldn't hold up without incredibly fresh sushi to make everything in life seem better though.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Gorm (163) - sandnes, NORWAY - JUN 3, 2013
Gyllen lys farve med hvitt skum som forsvinner raskt. Søtlig smak med en noe bittersøt avslutning. Vinmonopolet.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GoufCustom (237) - HONG KONG - JUN 3, 2013
(Part 1 of a 2-part “Macro Abyss Night” mini-series, 1-Jun-2013)
500 ml can bought at 7-Eleven somewhere in North Point. Having this with a friend while waiting for rest of the gang to have a crazy post-exam dinner nearby.
Pour piss golden yellow colour onto a dimple; One finger head and soapy white foam which last for about 1 minute; Minimal lacing and fizzy carbonation; Strong smell of malt, rice, corn, light bread, light citrus and grass; Light sweet taste of lager malt, with strong rice, corn, bread, light wet cardboard, lemon / citrus and light grass; Mid to light body, dry and crisp palate; Taste profile is rather rich, lean body macro lager malt, accompanied by strong rice, bread and light corn. The advertised dry taste is prominent and that pretty much makes up for the otherwise offensive macro malt and rice taste. Quite neat really. Wet cardboard is only in light shades and inoffensive. Otherwise no other foul macro lager taste is detected; Hoppiness is light citrus and grassy nose and taste, and a light but firm hop bitterness for semi-finish. Not bad; Dry after taste, very crisp and easy to mouth.
Comments: This was Asahi’s trump card during the Dry Wars, a with good reason: a decent lean body, any would-be offensive malt and rice taste are nicely counterbalanced by the crisp dry palate. Adding near-zero fault, pretty low sweetness, and some un-macro hoppiness, this one serves as a text book example on being a good, drinkable macro, which is a rarity these days. A cut above the rest, crappy macros that is.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 tomashopkins (4) - CHINA - MAY 21, 2013 does not count
I don’t get the consistently low scores for this beer. Maybe it is an Asian beer that needs to be imbibed in Asia. All I know is that it is my beer of choice when in Bangkok. Clean, crisp, light, refreshing, sharp straw flavor. But for me one of the best beers to drink on a hot humid day. Goes especially well with Asian food.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Mittenator (538) - Michigan, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Bottle. Light yellow with a pretty big off-white head. Strong hay and pilsner aromas. Sour hay flavors with a bit of grain at the end. A bit dry but definitely not "super" dry...This probably tastes better because I just finished mowing and it’s hot out.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 thanatosti (605) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2013
33 cl. bottle @ Nakoyashi, Veenendaal. Pale yellow with a white head. Grainy aroma. Bit of a cheap euro lager taste with some rice. Boring and not so good.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 vvesside (199) - California, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Pretty good when paired with some bomb sushi, but other than that, nothing to write home about.
