Date tasted: July 21, 2013 ... Glassware: Baltika stange... Occasion: looking forward to rest after a fun trip to LBI--and a new mattress upstairs....Appearance: clear golden body with slim bubbles; head flourishes and quickly dissipates, leaves spongelike, wide gaps between foamy nooks and crannies... Aroma: funky corn adjuncts plague the nostrils; slight suggestion of floral hops, but they are beaten back by macro malt... Palate: clean, slightly irregular finish with some warmth at its end; rather watery with little character...Taste: light bitterness from the malt adjunct makes this a rather bland mouth rinser; exhibits little of its promised "richness"... Overall: at $1.99 for a 38-ounce can, one could argue this beer actually gives the drinker his money’s worth... unfortunately, this beer didn’t have to come from Japan to deliver its pedestrian malty, bitterly bland aftertaste...at least there was a lot of it?...

(Cas) Se trata de una cerveza tipo Lager de espuma fina y aroma muy suave y un sabor ídem pero en contraposición es muy refrescante, no sólo por la temperatura a la que se sirve, sino por la climatología de su país de origen. 12 ounce bottle into lager glass, M21525 bottle code. Pours crystal clear golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, cracker, corn, rice, white bread, grain, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with good balance of pale malt, adjunct, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. A bit too fruity in the nose. Flavors of cracker, corn, rice, white bread, grain, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, corn, rice, white bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice robustness and balance of pale malt, adjunct, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with minimal yeast ester notes present. Moderate dryness, but not too dry. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a very solid rice lager. Good robustness and balance of pale malt, adjunct, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Golden yellow color, little white head. Aroma: something metallic reminds me. Watery taste. Whent it´s cold then it might be refreshing beer for hot summer, but nothing more.

typical mass-market lager, but without the adjust aftertaste. Label says "super dry" but its far from dry - actually slightly sweet/malty finish.

Bottle into a standard shaker glass. Served chilled. I’ll give it credit for being Crisp and clear as per the label. Otherwise a pretty bland beer, which unfortunately about all you can get at most regular pubs / bars and clubs in Australia and where Asahi is seen as "exotic" and special. OK in a pinch.
