2.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Asahi has been the number1 beer in Japan for a number of years as it was designed to be a dinner beer. It is in fact a great dinner beer and goes very well with food as it does not impart any after tastes. Nice hops and very dry.
As a casual beer or hiking beverage I would say don’t do it, it’s not appropriate. A bit expensive for what it is, but again as a dinner beer and holiday beer, it’s always present.

Bottle into a standard shaker glass. Served chilled. I’ll give it credit for being Crisp and clear as per the label. Otherwise a pretty bland beer, which unfortunately about all you can get at most regular pubs / bars and clubs in Australia and where Asahi is seen as "exotic" and special. OK in a pinch.

Rather metallic and malty flavour, and clear rice influence it leaves a dry tongue.

D’ampolla a casa. Cervesa color groc-daurat amb escuma blanca molt abundant i fina, poc duradora amb retenció i adherència mitja. aromes de sofre, gra, i palla. En boca es aigualida i un punt metal-lica, amb aromes similars i una mica d’herba. No m’agradat.

Not much to this beer. Yellow color with white head. Looks refreshing but isn’t when it comes to flavor. Very watery with a strange bitter aftertaste. [Booming voice] Disapprove!

Twelve ounce bottle from useless Asian restaurant in Delhi Township, tasted on July 2, 2016. Medium gold hue, cheap perfume smell, sweet adjunct taste with some perfume character. Not as bad as nose would indicate but not worth it unless you’re really thirsty.

Keg at Bi Bim Bap. Clear golden body with a medium white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of chalky lemon and grass. Flavour of grain and a light peppery finish. Thin to medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Very dry and crisp. I really enjoyed this.

Bottle @ random burger joint in Tallinn. Very light nose of malt and lager yeast. Malty with bread and some earthy yeast. Very light body. Pity Japan if this is their no. 1 beer.

Bottle at Lucky Voice Karaoke, Islington. Bit sticky and sweet, where’s that attenuation gone then? Doesn’t live up to the "dry" in its name or in my distant memory. Clean but not crisp. Drinkable but bland, remember this being better than it is.

I got this from Friar Tucks. Pours gold with a white head. Taste grain, bland, corn. I thought this was ok. I could drink this again.

Japanese version of typical under-average euro-lager. No reason to drink it again.
