2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JUN 1, 2009
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2009 Can. Bright, deep golden color with a firm frothy, head. Looks nice! Sweet malt aroma, biscuity, with light hops and a bit of citrus. Crisp and clean flavor, controlled sweetness, a bit of fruit, decent hops. Ok bitter finish. Not a lot of character, but pretty well-done, actually.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 SHIG (2699) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAY 14, 2011

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1697) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 1, 2010
Another ’better than expected’ treat. Light solid gold colour, a big white cap with ok coverage and speckled lacing. Malts.... lots of malts (reminded me of Birra Morena Puro Malto). Acceptably tasting grains, some spiced hops - this does get worse the longer this takes. Quite carbonated, small bubbles and a dry finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Capa (1626) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2009
I really didn’t want to buy this beer. I gave up on Asahi producing anything of worth a long time ago (save for their Black and Stout, both are pretty solid). I gave in to the Master and I’m actually pretty impressed. Crisp hops, clean finish, and rather refreshing on a warm spring evening. Best Asahi offering in a long time.

Pours a crystal clear yellow with a good finger head with decent retention.
Nose is floral, bready, more substantial than most japanese lagers.
Taste has hints of mold and carpet. More domestic in flavor, but off flavors ruin it.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 jonno (1453) - JAPAN - JUN 3, 2009
Honestly I gave this a fair rating. Poured a really light yellow with foamy head. Faint aroma of hop and aluminium. Thin body with little malt and a tiny hop presence. Very light. Like asahi super dry german style. Poor Poor Poor. This company really is at the low end of brewing techniques.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 EdKing (936) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2012
Can shared with my father-in-law. Pours pale clear golden yellow, lots of carbonation, massive head. Nose is grainy, malty, cereal, sweet barley. taste is, well, how can I put this? Why is a premium beer one that has clearly just been filtered more than others? Not much flavour other than it of grainy and crisp fizzy tang. Dull beer, not premium beer.
