Cask (handpump) at The Rake on 14 September 2009. Slightly hazy gold. Firm, hoppy character with strong grapefruit presence on the palate. Good bite and grip makes for a clean and drinkable, but assertive feel. Crap notes. Flagged for re-rate. (7/3/7/4/14 = 3.4).
RE-RATE: Cask (gravity dispense from stillage) at Reading Beer Festival on 29 April 2010. Bright gold. Excellent condition. Good sweet, juicy, spicy tropical fruit hop aroma. Fairly dry on the palate although, paradoxically, there is some residual fruity, sweetness in the aftertaste). Reasonably bitter. Firm, but very drinkable and didn’t seem 5.6%. (7/4/7/4/15 = 3.7)

Cask handpull, The Maltings, York, 18/04/11. Still gold with a slim white halo. Citrus tang aroma with hints of rabbit, flowers and grapefruit. Massive grapefruit and shampoo, almost tonic water bitterness approaching IPA levels with deep peanut husk afters. Austere and stinging- almost too much. Impressive.

Cask (gravity) @ The 16th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2010, Reading, Berkshire England.
Clear medium orange color with a small average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, orange - citrus, grapefruit, citrus peel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100429]

Citrus hop aroma. Golden coloured and a little hazy in appearance. Very hoppy citrus flavour with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a malt finish.

Floral hop aroma. Clear golden coloured floral hoppy and fruity with a slight bubble gum flavour. A hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.

Gravity cask at the Reading BF. Amber/ gold with a white head. Sweet toffee malts with late developing citrus hop dryness. Pretty decent.

Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Hazy amber in colour with a ring of white head; fruity apricot aroma; sweet and sticky with an apricot flavour and a slightly spicy bitter finish. A pleasant pint.

Cask at Egham USC, Surrey. Golden/amber coloured pour with small head. Aroma of over ripe fruit. Tastes slightly malty, bitter/sweet, citrus fruit, slightly hoppy. Drinkable but not exactly mindblowing.

Cask @ The White Horse:
A spitty looking head with farty, earthy, eggy aromas. Sprightly zest, light and tickly. The dryness is strawlike. Great lively USA hops but with the standard UK control.

Cask in the rake. Alround rating: Pale honey malt sweetness, peachy with some lychee citrus fruit character, but this herbal hop thats coming through gets right ontop of it and makes it a bit mildue like.

Handpull @ The Old Fountain, Old St. On the golden side of amber with a thin white head. Nose of pale malts, subtle fruits and a little gingery, piney hop in the distance. More pale malt than hop in the flavour but there’s a decent bitterness to the finish. It’s ok, just needs more.
