Cask på Edgar Wallace, Temple 4 Okt 10. Gyldenbrun. Nesten ikke noe skum. Søt fruktig & god aroma. Smaken litt vassen. Tørket aprikos. Syrlig fruktig ettersmak.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chriso (7063) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 5, 2011
Cask, somewhere around London in October 2010 (unattributed notes found on a scrap of paper). Amber colour. Not much head. Moist, slightly clammy aroma. Some leafy, grassy (think wet hay) hop presence but it’s rather more restrained than I expected and doesn’t exactly leap out of the glass. Fairly soft mouthfeel. Easy drinking and approachable but didn’t really make much of a statement. Not one of my favourite Ascot beers on this showing. To be fair, the condition didn’t seem to lively. Flagged for re-rate if I ever see it again.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Rune (4924) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2010
Golden-brown body, bubbly head. Lighter smell of leafy hops. Flavoured with leafy hops and caramel malt followed by a round bitter finish. Cask, half pint in fine condition at Edgar Wallace, London 4 Oct 10.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (6618) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2010
Cask Conditioned Handpump The Rake Borough Market. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head and lacing. A light fruity aroma with a little berry note. Dry flavours with light hops. Expected better although the sweet fruits are endearing.
