COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & bottle conditioned; Regular.
Our flagship Bitter pours a rich copper colour with a sweet malt taste and toffee notes. This is perfectly balanced with a mix of Chinook and Cascade hops providing a sharp bitterness, with a strong citrus and tropical fruit aroma and some slight spicy hints.

Bottle: Hazy, burnt honeycomb in colour. Honey and light elderflower on the nose. Sweet and still in the mouth. The oily texture carries a hefty load of malt, sweet and light. The main appearance of hoppage is late on in the finish which offers a tight dryness. Honey is there all the way through with tickles of sticky dried fruit. Very pleasant to drink. Balanced and tasty.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London. Pours a clear, rich gold with a small, white head. Some nice, zesty citrus on the nose, with a bit of toast and hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with well-balanced bitterness. Toast, faint grapefruit and grass, mild honey and bread. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Clean, crisp, lightly dry finish, mild sugar, toasty bread, light citrus. Incredibly drinkable beer.

Cask (Cask & Kitchen, RBESGG2011)
Mid orange. Fresh fruity hop aromas. Grapefruity bitter bite. Decent balance, but a bit sweet perhaps. Smooth palate, decent carbonation. Had it a million times, but don’t mind having it again.

Cask (handpump) at The Rake on 11 December 2008. Amber colour. No head and very little condition. Slightly fruity (berries) but also a bit grainy on the nose. Just a little sniff of mango-ish hop. Quite bitter on the palate. American hops not much in evidence and this certainly didn’t come across much like an APA - more like a fruity best bitter. I don’t know whether this was a bit tired but it certainly didn’t seem to be in great nick. Flagged for re-rate.

Had enough of this name for a while. Another dog tribute. Not so different from the english styles and nice in features. At GBBF 2010.

Cask@GBBF2010. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with some toffee and caramel. Flavour is toffee, caramel malts as well as quite fruity and floral hoppyness. Rather refreshing and nicely balanced.

Bottled from realale.com. Poured to give a slightly cloudy orange amber colour. Disappointing head. Floral aroma. The taste is light with citrus hops and ends bitter / sour. Could do with a bit more carbonation to push the aroma.

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Amber in colour. Hoppy and fruity aroma with notes of caramel and peach. The taste is nicely balanced with fruit, hops and notes of peach and biscuity malt.
