COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Status uncertain.
Listed as a seasonal on the brewery website but seems to appear intermittently throughout the year.

Our Red IPA is bursting with flavour from all the hops we manage to squeeze into the brew. It the hoppiest of any beer we’ve brewed so far. The different varieties of malt that give the red colour give an initial sweetness, but that’s overtaken by the citrus, grapefruit and pine aromas and flavours from the hops. This is followed by a lasting bitter hoppy finish.

Nutty caramel aroma. Dark brown appearance. Very bitter taste with a front of the tongue linger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

August 20, 2013 - hand-pull cask and the Earl of Essex. Utterly gorgeous pour - deep burnt auburn with a solid lasting mottled creamy head. The appearance may well be the best part, though - not bad, but a bit papery - harsh and somewhat generic bitterness, toasty malt. Astringent, decently carbonated, the harshness doesn’t bus much, but it does stick around a long time - my next beer was a welcome palate cleanser.

Cask@Derby Winter Beer Festival 2013. Reddish amber beer with a reasonable head. The aroma is fruity and mildly roasted, and the flavour is roasted with good bitterness. Overall a nice and smooth roasted and bitter beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask @ CPK. Pours deep reddish amber with a creamy off white head. The nose is sweet chewy malts. Rich berry, pine resin and toasted grain. The taste is nice bitter woodland, rich berry jam. Spruce, plenty of hoppy bitterness. Full body for what it is. Quite nice.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 28/09/12. Slightly hazed reddish brown with a medium off-white head. Sweet caramel malts dominate the nose with pine, hops, sweet sugar, grapefruit and other tropical fruit tones. Taste follows nose, really get the caramel malt, summer fruits, hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Decent.

Smell is sweet and sticky. SIckly fruity body. Nice bitter finish - long and biting and dry. Some almost burnt aspects in the roast. Unsatisfying, but reds have never done it for me.
