Clear golden with a moderate off white cap.
Nose is light spice, trace of green pepper, malt, toffee.
Taste comprises caramel, green chilli heat - but subtle enough and kept in check, vanilla essence.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.

4oz on tap at the brewpub. Clear orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Leaves great, thicker lace. Whoa. I did not expect the pepper before my first sip. It’s certainly obvious now. Though, not over the top. Nice roasted, toasty smoked jalapeno pepper aroma. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Moderate sweet taste. Light bitter. Some peppery kick. Definitely interesting stuff. Fun to try.

Location: Draft at Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company (Merrimon Ave), 1/3/15
Aroma: This beer has a light hop nose, with some fairly strong pepper notes to it
Appearance: It pours an orange color, with an off white head and some coating lace
Flavor: The flavor is more pepper forward over the light, clean hops
Palate: It has a pretty smooth feel, with a medium body, and a pepper spice finish
This is a pretty decent pepper spice beer. I can’t complain too much, because they did a nice job with this one.

On tap at brewpub. Amber with white head. Smell is light malty with jalapenos. Taste is warming hot jalapenos and caramel malty and floral hops. Crazy but balanced with the hot jalapenos.

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, jalapenos and caramel. The taste was of jalapenos, lemons and some maltiness. Interesting.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a pale buff head. Malty aroma has a hot pepper hint. Flavor is malty and peppery - maybe a little too peppery, but still potable. Texture is smooth and, well, peppery. Can you escape this fire?

Had as part of flight at Juicy Lucy’s. Pours nice orange color. Low marks for appearce- no head at all. Taste is malty and spicy all at once. Great beer if you are a lover of the jalapeno. Not at all subtle in the spice. Sort of masks the other flavors going on- would be good with food that could stand up to it. They might tame each other a bit. Bit spicy for me, but not bad.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Orange appearance with a beige head. Spicy jalapeño pepper aroma. Similar flavor with light malts and spices.

I was really surprised by this beer. The nose has elements of caramel and brown sugar in it with a nice backing of roasted jalapeno. Brown with a very small head. Sweet in the front, bitter in the middle, and spicy in the end. The heat is not overwhelming, but plays a subtle partner to the beer’s malt profile. Medium bodied with a spicy warming finish. Went great with carnitas and grilled corn.
