COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire Escape is the Escape Artist ESP that is brewed with roasted jalapeno peppers. It is the most popular beer infusion that we had ever done, so we decided to start brewing it!! Give it a try next time you are in one of the locations.... you will ♥ it!!

Pours amber with fairly little head. You really get the jalapenos at the end of the beer - there’s a very spicy aftertaste. However, I found that there was relatively little flavor elsewhere in the beer.

This is basically the escape artist with jalapenos thrown in. Pouring a light orange from tap the jalapenos dominate everything. I happen to like jalapenos but the taste is a bit one note. This stuff lingers for hours so make sure it’s the last thing you drink for the night.

Beer #9 Asheville trip. Lightly hazy orange. Aroma is lightly of caramel malts. Flavor is light caramel malts, that are slowly destroyed by a lingering heat. Can’t say the jalapeno did much for flavor, really just making it hot. Not a big fan of chili pepper beers, and this one just confirmed my general bias against them.

Pours a slightly hazy amber with a pale buff head. Malty aroma has a hot pepper hint. Flavor is malty and peppery - maybe a little too peppery, but still potable. Texture is smooth and, well, peppery. Can you escape this fire?

Brewgrass 2012 The version I sampled was run through a Cilantro & Lime mini-Randall. The aroma was fresh cilantro. The flavor was like a mouth full of beer and salsa. The Jalapenos kick in as a subtle yet firm burn on the tongue that kicks in about the third swallow. I think I would prefer the unfiltered version and would rate it accordingly better.

Draft at brewer. Copper pour with a thick white head. Big pepper smell. Taste is mellow then fire. Different and better than most pepper brews.

Pint at thirsty Monk. Pours a hazy orange. Pretty decent peppery aroma with metallic notes and caramel. The jalapeno flavor is pretty nice with a reasonable strength. A plasticity I associate with some chipotle products turns up, but there’s plenty of good pepper flavor to mask it. Finish has a little drowsiness to it. Pretty good.

Amber color with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus, peppers, and caramel. The flavor has some herbal notes with some jalapenos and lemons. An interesting beer to wash these 5 alarm freakin chicken fingers. Oooooph son.

Sampler at the brewpub. It poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, jalapenos and caramel. The taste was of jalapenos, lemons and some maltiness. Interesting.

On tap at Thirsty Monk in Asheville. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Nose shows mild hop presence, some burnt jalapeño and wet dog. Taste is nicely balanced, with more flavor than heat from the peppers but I nice slight kick at the end.
