We believe beer is magic! Houdini Extra Special Pale will make you a believer as well. A light, medium bodied brew, we use two classic American hops varieties. Centennial and Cascade create a concoction of mystique and complexity. No smoke and mirrors here.

bomber. Mine’s labeled "Escape Artist" w/ pad lock & chain art. Solid pale ale, nothing super special, but still packs plenty of hops. Maybe a little old but $2 bomber, yessir!.

Draft at the Coxe Ave location. Had this as "Escape Artist". Poured a pale orange color with a small white head. Aroma was light sweet malt, citrus notes. Flavor was nice light orange notes, touch of spicy hops. Light bitter finish. Pretty solid American Pale.

Keg at the brewpub on Coxe, Asheville, as Escape Artist ESP 17/02/15. Clear golden with a decent light beige covering. Nose is light floral tones, caramel, citric peel, lemon rind. Taste comprises melon, orange pith, straw, faint bread. Medium bodied, fine carboantion, semi drying close. So so.

4oz on tap at the brewery. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves solid, thicker lace. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Kind of slick. Pretty impressive appearance and texture. Awesome grapefruit citrus, moderate zest, moderate-plus bitter... Moderate sweet. Great grapefruit hop, nice citrus, good rich malt. A fantastic hoppy pale ale. Really dig this. Very tasty.

Berries and tree bark. I should have listened to K., who told me so in the first place.

Tap and billed as Escape. Not my cup of tea. I really couldn’t wait to finish this beer so I could move on. Sorry.

A dark golden color with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus and pine. The flavor is only slightly bitter with some lemons and caramel. This is more english than apa but a good session beer nonetheless.

Draft sampler at Asheville Brewing’s Merrimon Avenuey location under "Asheville Excape Artist ESP" alias. Cloudy amber hue, small white head that mostly lasted with good lacing, mild to moderate hoppy aroma with hint of spice, light body, slightly syrupy texture, moderate bittersweet flavor with initial taste of sweetness with sugar and rock candy notes, followed by a fine hoppiness. Even though something seemed somewhat off in the finish, this is still an enjoyable beer. Tasted on July 7, 2012.
