COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Asheville Brewing Company and the Bob Moog Foundation are proud to announce the launch of the limited edition Moog Filtered Ale, a pale beer named in honor of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. The beer will be available beginning May 27, 2010 at the Foundation’s fundraising event, Moogus Operandi featuring synthesizer wizard Erik Norlander. All profits from the sale of the beer will be donated to the Bob Moog Foundation to benefit their projects. The beer is being released in conjunction with Bob’s May 23 birthday.

Date: 1/19/2011 Source:Other Light graininess with a light spicy hop notes in aroma. Clear golden with small white ring of head. Spicy grainy flavor, dry with moderate bitterness. Medium body and mouth. Finish is dry and moderately bitter.

Kinz (3365) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JAN 15, 2011
Richmond 13th from Butters. Orange amber, slight head. Aroma is bitter earthy hops that remind of unsweetened cocoa. Flavor is a match. A bit tedious, but not bad.

Butters (3860) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 15, 2011
Sampled at the Richmond Gather XIII. Bomber pours clear amber with ring of offwhite head. Nose is slightly spicy hop but old and musty. A little lactic acidity comes out in the flavor, with hints of sweaty socks. Label is more exciting than the beer.

Pours a clear gold with moderate white head. Has some spicy/citrusy hop aroma although it could stand to be stronger. Hop and malt flavor is subtle but the bitterness lingered long into the finish.

Bomber courtesy of Butters. Thanks! Pours a clear pale orange color with a thin head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma of nutty malts and faint leafy, earthy hops. The taste is bitter leafy hops, caramel, a faint bit of citrus. Medium bodied. Pretty good beer.

(22oz bomber thanks to Mora2000) clear orange-amber with very thick lasting tight white bubbled head. Nose of big spices, citrus, and melon. Taste of orange, light grapefruit, candied ginger. Very carbonated body, dry and tingly.

Pours a light copper color with an off white head. Aroma is floral, toasty, and nice citrus. Flavor is caramel, toast, slightly earthy, and nice citrus finish.
