Bomber poured a clear dark brown nearly black with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and light coffee with a smooth lingering roasty finish.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Onenote81 (899) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 21, 2012
Originally reviewed: 1/14/10. Another of the offerings I had at the brewpub the other night. Came out a dark black with a bit of light around the edges. Small tan head capped it off. Sip rings and lace present. Scents of coffee, milk chocolate, and dark breads.
Another full-bodied beer here. I like the depth of this. This is definitely a more coffee-forward beer. Flavors of espresso, pumpernickel bread, and graham crackers. This was my favorite offering of the night I think. Well done!

Draft, sampler: a tad boring, pours dark brown with a tasty looking tan head. It smells chocolaty, and roasty, but leaves you wishing for it in the flavor.

Something weird about this one.

Draft. Murky brown color, tan head. Aroma of chocolate and light spice. Taste is similar. More of a stout than a porter.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Braudog (4604) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Draft at the Coxe location. Standard brewpub porter visuals. Good flavor with bitter chocolate, roast and cream all making a showing of it. Among the ones I’d choose on a return. (#4298, 10/5/2011)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 magsinva (309) - Virginia, USA - AUG 27, 2011
Tap at Asheville brewing - pours a dark brown with a off white head. Served too cold, so I’m not getting alot on the nose other than chocolate and malt. Taste is smokey bitterness that gently lingers. Palate is astringent and smooth, weird. Overall an average porter.

Pours dark dark brown with a thin brown head. Slight hints of malt on the nose. A bit of chocolate on the tongue. Finishes clean. Solid but not spectacular.
