Sometimes you’ve just got to take it back to where it all began. And we took it way back with this offering. Old School is a British-style pale ale brewed with organic malts that feature Caramel and Munich malts for an easy drinking yet full-bodied character. The real darling of Old School, though, is in the hops. We went back and dug up some East Kent Goldings, traditionally used in all ales of British origin with a floral nose and an earthy, spicy, slightly sweet flavor. From start to finish, this is a great beer for celebrating the good times: past, present and future.

2008 Knoxville Brewers’ Jam. Pours brass color with sticky off-white head. The aroma is melon, sweet honey, and some herbal hops. The flavor is a mellow malt with herbal hops and some bark. I didn’t enjoy this one very much.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear orangey gold, loose foamy head. Crisp, mellow hop aroma. Very dry and bitter, with a bracing hop bite over an understated, earthy malt base. Simple and tasty. Goes good with -wait for it - Pizza.
