The destroyer, the creator, the benefactor. Shiva is all these things. We set out to create an IPA that anyone can enjoy, and we think we succeeded. As the flagship beer in our lineup, we’ve yet to encounter a soul who believes contrary. A crisp, citrusy Indian Pale Ale with a light color, Shiva will destroy all your preconceptions of an IPA. A transcendentally simple malt bill accents a generous helping of Columbus hops, lending an intense floral aroma with hints of grapefruit and a pleasant bittering quality. Your palette will be lifted to higher planes of consciousness with a bittersweet finish.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2009 22 oz bottle purchased at Riverside Beer Store in Chattanooga. Poured a clear yellow/gold with a thin, bubbly white head. The aroma was floral, with a bit of citrus also. Flavor was citrus with a decent malt balance and a bitter, resin finish. The palate was average, with a lingering bitter finish, a medium body, soft carbonation and a clean mouthfeel. This wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great.

On tap at Bonnaroo. Poured a copper orange. Aroma was light but hoppy. Flavor was surprisingly smooth for an IPA. Not too bitter. Good balance.

This Scottish Ale pours a medium amber color from the tap at the brewpub. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is mild malts with some breadiness. A light bodied Scottish Ale. The malts are caramel and sweet, touch of smoke. The hops are earthy. It a really light bodied Scottish ale, but I guess it was brewed that way. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

pours a pleasent golden colour, with a fluffy and bitter head. the taste does indeed start off with a touch of sweetness and ends crisp with a lemon like hop taste.
