The destroyer, the creator, the benefactor. Shiva is all these things. We set out to create an IPA that anyone can enjoy, and we think we succeeded. As the flagship beer in our lineup, we’ve yet to encounter a soul who believes contrary. A crisp, citrusy Indian Pale Ale with a light color, Shiva will destroy all your preconceptions of an IPA. A transcendentally simple malt bill accents a generous helping of Columbus hops, lending an intense floral aroma with hints of grapefruit and a pleasant bittering quality. Your palette will be lifted to higher planes of consciousness with a bittersweet finish.

can: Pours a clear light amber with large white head. Aroma is distinct flowery, grapefruit. Taste is slightly sweet, light caramel blending quickly into strong grapefruit and smooth hop spiciness. Mouthfeel is light, mostly doe to high carbonation. While strongly bitter, it is smooth and not harsh making it enjoyable.

On tap at Asheville Pizza. Clear orange pour with a white foamy head. Aroma of citrus, pine and resin. A typical IPA. Nothing special. Citrus and pine hops up front, followed by resin hops and a slightly sweet malt backbone. Just enough malts to balance out the dryness of the resin and pine hops. Has a nice bittersweet finish.

Pours golden with a thinner eggshell head that leaves some decent lacing. Nose involves grassy, pine, and earthy hop notes with light malt. Fairly sweet, quite bitter. Lighter bodied, a bit grainy, with a fairly bitter finish. Pretty drinkable, if not incredibly exciting.

Fruity and bready notes in the nose. Amber with a hint of orange and a foamy cream head. Bitter with fruit notes and good balance. Medium bodied and smooth in the mouth with a grapefruit bitter finish.

12oz can. Pours a bright gold-orange color with a thin head of soapy white cream. Aroma is sharp, resiny, bitter hops. The hop bite strikes quickly and fiercely. The malts are certain pushed to the background as the hops jump all over my palate. Not my style - if a beer is going to be so completely hop-centric, I prefer it to be floral or grapfruity rather than bitter and piney.

Tap. Straw with decent head ad decent lacing. Not much aroma, maybe light grapefruit. Flaor is light as well, dry with a light bitterness. Clean, slick, light bitter finish.

22 oz. Pours a dark orange with a smaller off white head and decent retention that left some lacing throughout. Aroma was of spicy, earthy hops, little piney. Taste was pine forward and spicy hops with some citrus with maximized bitterness. Pretty standard IPA, but without the date on the bottle I would guess that this was slightly past its prime due to the large bitterness with some of the taste falling off. Also a bit to piney for my tastes, but drinkable nontheless.
