COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The destroyer, the creator, the benefactor. Shiva is all these things. We set out to create an IPA that anyone can enjoy, and we think we succeeded. As the flagship beer in our lineup, we’ve yet to encounter a soul who believes contrary. A crisp, citrusy Indian Pale Ale with a light color, Shiva will destroy all your preconceptions of an IPA. A transcendentally simple malt bill accents a generous helping of Columbus hops, lending an intense floral aroma with hints of grapefruit and a pleasant bittering quality. Your palette will be lifted to higher planes of consciousness with a bittersweet finish.

I think the one I had at the WBF was aged in an oak barrel, which may have made it better. Whatever it was, excellent IPA.

Meh...a little substandard for a fresh ipa. Prefered every other hoppy brew they made to this. Lightly citrus floral and bitter, but boring.

Draft sample. The beer is a clear amber with a white head of foam. The aroma has some floral notes and some spice. Medium bitterness in the taste that finishes dry. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Can from Chris on his Carolina trip. Thanks! Pours copper with thinish off white head. Nose is hoppy with pine and citrus; grapefruit in the taste with that gf edge. All in all a decent if not outstanding brew.

Malty aromas, orangey, herbal. Clear orange with a mostly lasting white head. Malts dominate, hops are round and not too bitter. Medium bodied.

Draft at Papa’s and Beer in Asheville, NC served in a pint glass; deep orangy-copper color with off-white head. Aroma notes of heavy citrus/grapefruity hops with some malt sweetness backing. Taste adds more rounded citrus zest notes and earthy grass. Medium-light body, moderate-low carbonation, dry with lingering citrus finish. Kind of a one dimensional grapefruit hop bomb but sometimes that’s nice.

On Tap at the Asheville Yacht Club, Asheville Shiva IPA is a deeper copper colored brew with a nice head of medium off white bubbles. Nose is green grass and grapefruit. Taste is more citrus with hints of mown grass, and a nice dry hoppy finish. Decent carbonation. Nice IPA.

Poured from a can. Dark orange in color. Slightly hazy, with plenty of carbonation and a foamy white head. Aroma of wheat and faint grassy/citrusy hops. Taste is lightly malted, sweet, mild hops, and big time bitterness that lingers. Seems a bit off balance. No detection of alcohol. Okay beer.

Pours orange with a thin tan head very malty with a hoppy bitter finish. Smells very malty and dry. Had this one at home. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
