COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Pale beer with plenty of malted wheat for a balanced mouth feel. Well hopped with Cascade hops for both bittering and aroma. Rainbows End was the name of the café at the terminus of Ashover light railway which is to be returned to its original site in 2008.

Cask, 4.5% at GBBF08. Hazy yellow colour. Small stable head. No aroma, but quite good flavour. The flavour has a nice rough fruitiness, good flavour hops, slightly fruity. Good mouthfeel.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours between straw and light gold with a thin white head, it looks good. Some sulphour on nose with a little fruit. Good bitterness, there is honey and citrus in combination, the citrus streaks around the mouth. Lovely beer. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cask at GBBF on 8th August 2009. Gold with lasting white head. Fruit aroma then boldly hoppy. Delicate fruit notes also seek the limelight in the imbiber’s mouth. Dry crisp finish; pleasant, with a smooth texture.

A Mes rate: gravicask at Ealing Beer Festival.
Light golden brown colour with a slight haze and a reasonable head. A standard but very balanced and well made bitter. Good grassy hops, good earthy malt... you know the drill. Dry bitter finish is just right. Good stuff.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 5 Aug 2009) Golden yellow colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grass and pineapple. Fruity taste with grass, citrus, tropical fruit and a decent, citrussy bitternes in the finish. Rather light body with some sweetenss. Fresh citrussy hop character. Nice and refreshing.

Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Hazy gold with a bubbly foam. Aromas are toast and sharp lemon with yeast and wheat. Green apple with hints of lime. Flavours are crisp and grassy with base wheat and biscuit malts. Peppery with grapefruit bitterness and some woody, herbal notes. Has a bit of lime on the edge. Peppery on the palate. Refreshing.

Cask (handpump) at the Victoria, Lincoln, April 2008. Rather similar to the Spire Whiter Shade of Pale that I tried just before. Not, perhaps, surprising as both have a proportion of wheat in the mash. More surprising that they both exhibited a strong lemon character when this one uses cascade and the Spire specifically excluded grapefruit hops. The end results were similar - clean, sharp and hoppy but a little short of complexity.

Cask, Victoria Inn, Rugby (Atomic brewery tap) Autumn Fest ’08. Straw with lace. Lemony mango citrus snout. Silky m/f, boiled sweet citrus, bit of wood, grassy hops, almond. A little rough around the edges, but decent. Hops just dwarfed by those house brews.
