COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & Bottled; Occasional.
Janine & Dominic return from the west coast of America, fired up with enthusiasm to create a strong red ale. The name comes from an area of Ashover once renown for the noise of the frame knitting machines.

Gravity cask at White Cliffs/Dover Fest 2011. Crystal malt indulgent sweet sticky with lots of hops. Extreme and mostly crude but drinkable.

Bottled, tasting @ De Molen Warehouse. The aroma has caramel malts, some flowery hops. Clear, red-amber coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is bitter, bit sweet and has caramel, dried fruits, some citrus, hops. Nice balance. enjoyable beer.

Cask gravity at White Cliffs BF 2011. Chestnut colour thin bubbly beige head. Very sweet hop aroma. Lots of sweet crysral malt lots of PNW hops. Excellent. Slightly cheesy on hop. Tasty amber strong beer. I like the hops but dont like the cheese. Decent though

Bottled. Reddish color, short head. Hoppy aroma, caramel and toffee. Good bitter taste. Firm malty body. The english equivalent of an american barley wine? Good balanced brew.

Bottle at meeting. Aroma is spicy slightly sweet malts and some red fruits. Flavor is somewhat sweet malty and a hint of hoppy bitterness. Very nice balance.

Bottle @ meeting. Aroma is fruity malty with some spices. Quite english. Flavour is quite English, with hops, fruit and some spices. A bit thin but nice.

Tasting @ De Molen Warehouse. Red colored brew. Smooth textured. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Flavor has a good taste of dried fruits and sweetness. Nice one.

Bottle@TastingSession. Well hopped aroma, fruity, herbal and light grassy. Red colour, beige head, very nice lace. Very sweet, quite bitter, fruity. Both English and non-English as well. Soft, low carbonation.
