Keg in a Suffolk pub. Pours straw with high carbonation providing a few white bubbles. Sweet stewed apple aroma. The taste is clean crisp sweet apple juice. Refreshing pop for a hot day.

Bottle from Walsgrave B&M. Pale silvery green with a cursory swirl of head. Effervescent with a pleasant sherbet of acidity, slight Granny Smiths tartness and hint of warm rubber to finish. Aroma of peppery alcohol, windfall fruit, calamine and rubber. Decent enough.

On draught at The Old Spring, Cambridge. Straw, clear and massively carbonated. Perfume/apple aroma: pleasant if somewhat artificial. The taste, by God, is good! Slight sourness cuts through the keg cider taste. Not a bad ping really.

Pour on tap at the Republic SC, clear straw yellow pour with no head, aroma brought notes of tart lemon, apple, touch of oak, earth, some slight spice into a bit of a grainy note. Tate was a mix of grass, lemon, apple into some slight spice, touch of yeasty notes into a hint of tart fruit, finishing dry.

Bottle 50cl, nose is on apple juice. Aroma is on apple juice, acidity, high carbonation, dry body, less complex and mono-dimensional. Ripped fruits at the finish.

500ml bottle 5.5% pours an effervescence bubbly froth initally which calms to pale yellow clear and still. I couldn’t pick up much aroma only a bittersweet apple aroma. The taste is crisp, dry and bittersweet with a hint of bramley. There is a medium carbonation that leaves the mouth bitter and dry without a lingering taste. Overall an absolute cracking cider that is closer to a wine, great with food and the bitterness doesnt make it a session drink. These Aspall guys really know what they are at.

Aspall English Suffolk Cider, 500 ml bottle from Yamaya on sale. A bright crystal clear light gold with no head. Semi-sweet apple aroma, a bit of a bready character with a bit of a tart character & some musty funk. Light bodied, smooth texture in the mouth quite nice. The taste is pretty balanced - sweet apple, an acidic tartness and a light dry finish. Pretty nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear champagne colouring with a good carbonation. Sweet, syrupy aroma which is backed up by an equally sweet taste. Leaves a cloying, syrupy sensation in the mouth.
