COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled only. Available in 330ml & 500ml bottles. Packaged as Aspall Dry Suffolk Cider for export.
Of mid straw-gold colour with a clean, light aroma of dessert apples, Premier Cru is dry, round and creamy on the palate with a good acid balance, pleasant soft tannins and an elegant, long finish.
A champagne taste that embodies the essence of an orchard, it has enticed an admiring audience who describe it as ‘pale, subtle and crisp, with a fresh aroma of English apples.’
An ideal partner for charcuterie and mild cheeses. Premier Cru also provides a very harmonious partnership with spicy foods, particularly curry.

2008 bottle with probably 4-6 months of age on it. The bottle is identical to the label pictured here however, the box has Premier Cru on it, so I’m not sure that the two arent one and the same. Anyhow, I was pleasantly surprised with this one, despite the obvious filtration and forced carbonation, it’s not overly fizzy (given some breathing) and has plentiful wild yeast character. The finish even ends with a nicely tart acidity that removes all the sweetness from the mouth. The aroma has notes of chardonnay and peaches, though white grape juice prevails lightly on the finish. Bits of doughiness and hay mark the opening flavor profile, which grows quite acidic as I mentioned, leading to a unripened nectarine/apricot fruitiness and vibrant green apple crispness. No alcohol noted. Very light in color. Clear. Moderately watery mouthfeel as the carbonation recedes.

A tasty cider, as ciders go. Refreshing, if a bit winey. Would drink again.

Très bon produit. Arôme de pomme, pas trop de sucre. CO2 bien dosé. Alcool présent mais discret. Finale sèche.

No bottling information.
Appearance: Crystal clear pale golden body with a quickly dissipating white head that settles into a foamy ring with a little foam island in the middle of the surface.
Aroma: The aroma has a chalky sort of mineral quality with apple skin aromas. Not much aroma of apples.
Taste: The flavor is a bit flat with a mineral quality to it and a mild apple flavor. This reminds me of a mildly sweet Riesling in a way. Not bad, but I like more apple flavor.
Palate: Medium bodied with mild carbonation.
Overall: Not my favorite cider, but I’d drink this again. Not bad, just I like my ciders a bit more bold in flavor. This reminds me more of a wine than a cider.

Appearance: Clear straw/golden/green colour. Aroma: Apple, spicy, wood and note of leaves. Taste: Low/medium sweet and medium tartness. Palate: Thick coarse texture, light body, average carbonation, abrupt dry tart apple finish with gentle sweetness. Comments: Tasty but quite subtle flavours.

Bottle. Pours a pale yellow crystal clear body with a good deal of bubbles. Nose is mild sawdust, yellow apples and hints of green herbs. Taste is yellow apples, mild citric tones and hints of strawberries in the back. Light body, medium to high carbonation. A very mild, drinkable and inoffensive cider which probably serves well as a crowdpleaser but I find it to be a bit on the boring side. However, the 7 % ABV is amazingly well hidden and this certainly has some merit in my book.
