COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available in 500ml bottles marked 2010 Vintage.
Aspall’s first new cyder in 4 years. Imperial is created from a 90 year old recipe refined for modern tastes, using apples from the 2010’s harvest with muscovado sugar to give it a sweet and mellow finish.

Clear golden color, thin white head. Aroma of wood, wine, apples. Medium to high sweetness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Nice smooth texture. Maybe little bit too sweet, but still very enjoyable. I don’t consider myself a cider fan, but this is very good.

500ml bottle, as Aspall Imperal Vintage No. 285. Pours clear orange with a light caramel aroma. Taste is strong dark oak, vanilla & cooked apple flavours with a strong alcohol tang and caramel concentrate finish. Gets a bit too strong and sticky by the end.

Sweet and dessert like cidre not nearly as good as their dry cidre, this one is sweet, not too musty, but would prefer it dryer.

Bottle shared with McTapps. Nice and smooth with deep apples in the back and fine balanced mixture of sweet and sour. Real quality cider with a full body and fine finish.

Bottle from Tesco in Ryde. Pours out in a clear deep golden colour with medium to smooth body. Aroma of ripe, red apples and oak. Taste of red apples, ripe green ones, Braeburn apples, oak and leaves. Smooth and easy to drink with a dry, not too sweet finish. Wonderful cider.

Bottle. Pours a deep, deep gold/amber with a slight head and large amounts of visible carbonation. The nose is honeyed apple with a touch of cinnamon candy, vanilla, and oak. Very crisp on the tongue; good apple flavor with some phenolic dryness and a spicy edge. Finish has apple peel dryness and some astringency. Well made.

rauchbier (3634) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2014
Bottle, as "Imperial Vintage No. 285" Deep orange gold, quickly fizzing to nothingness white head, gentle condition. Muted woody oak, vanilla and sweet apple in the nose, some suggestion of a herbal peatiness with time. In the mouth it is quite full and slightly citric, threatening to turn to tartness but moving to sweetness instead, theres a background dryness that has a woody edge and some alcohol notes but otherwise the strength is deceptively well hidden, aftertaste has a gentle apple fruitiness and a little oak lingering

No.285. Bottle from Sainburys. Burnt golden colour, complex nose of dried fruit, marmalade (?) and apples. Bordering on medium dry, with good body, lovely fruit and a nice streak of acidity. A lovely cider, one to savour, rather than quaff to quench a thirst.
