Shared 0,5 l bottle of the 2011 vintage at Cardinal. Clear golden body with a white rim. Apple and orange marmelade with notes of vanilla on the nose. Medium to full bodied and smooth to drink. Fruity, sweet concentrated, dessert wine with a suiting carbonation. Finishes with a dry tongue.

2012 vintage. Good clean fun. Not overtly complex a hint of sourness to offset the sweetness, sweet finish with residual tannins.

Deep golden color. No head. Fairly tannic, moderately dry nose. Well balanced, alcohol well hidden, but not overly complex. Decent stuff.

bhensonb (10692) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 6, 2014
Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. "2010 Vintage" replaced by "English". Pours orange tinged gold with no head. Aroma is apple skin with something suggesting treacle. Med body or nearly. Flavor is apple skin and a hint of brown sugar or treacle. Itís sweet but seems dry. Make that apple skin astringent. Interesting stuff.

Palate: Smooth thick texture, light/medium body, average carbonation, dry, abrupt apple, spicy, vinous, sweet, slightly bitter tart finish which has caramelised qualities and buttery smoothness. It has a sour aroma about it which is why I have given it a higher rating. Not a sweeter cider but if you like a cider, try it.
