1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 ClubGonzo (1736) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 2, 2012
Bottle. Pours a clear pale, near-green yellow body with no head to speak of (as usual with cider). Aroma is mineral salts, light sulfuric tones, wood, yeast and yellow apples. Taste is weird and sulfuric, with wood and astringent sawdust-like bitterness in between rotting vegetables and accentuated yeasty tones. Parching mouthfeel and surprisingly watery mouthfeel despite the high ABV - it’s just too dry, I reckon. Not a good one. Judging by the low Norwegian ratings on this one, the entire batch shipped to Norway might have been bad. At least, I hope so for the sake of the producers...

500 ml bottle. Pale golden body almost without any head at all. Aroma is mostly sulfide and yeast. Flavor is mild and acidic apple with some off flavors. Not much apples here and the rest is not particular pleasant either.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 yngwie (8717) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 24, 2012
Bottle. It pours a clear, pale yellow body and some white bubbles on top. Sulphur, a touch of apples and some oat nuts. The flavor is more on the apple side, but it’s not completely free of oat nuts and sulphur. Rather boring and sure lacking on the apple flavors. Medium body. Overall, not very interesting and sure lacking on apples. Don’t see any use for this, even though it’s drinkable and all that. 120124

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jimthechap (644) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - DEC 29, 2011
Same light vino-verde, dry star colour as the Aspall dry. Smells of linoleum, apple peels, non-vintage demi-sec champagne. Full mouthfeel with an on-going tingle lasting to the back of the mouth developing into juiciness. Drier than I was expecting (a good thing), but would go for the Aspall dry if put in front of me.

Refrigerated 6.8% abv bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours clear golden with very little head that dissapates completely. No lacing, carbonation that completely dissapates, and medium body. Taste is slightly sweet apple.
