From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 09/10/2008 Fruity aroma. Black hoppy and fruity. A little rich on the palate. Crisp and slightly bitter burnt roast finish.

on nitro-pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet dark malt, some ashy. Taste is ashy, sweet dark malt-roasty/chocolate, some earthy hops.

Taster at Brewers Rendezvous 7/9/11. Pours a medium mocha head, over a dark brown (SRM 35) body....nose is coffee, chocolate light toffee/caramel....taste is medium coffee, lighter chocolate, light toffee/caramel....mouth feel medium, carbonation medium. This is a typical Porter with the usual aromas and flavors. BJCP 7/3/13/4/6

Draught at brewery. Black with egg white head (on nitro). Aroma of roasted malts, notes of light coffee and faint caramel. Taste of burnt chocolate and light coffee. A fairly rich porter but also pretty smooth (the nitro certainly helped).

Draught. Pours black with an average, creamy, dark brown head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (molasses, coffee, toast), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather) with notes of tar, smoke, peat, and licorice. Medium bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
