COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Similar to our Smuggler Wheat Hefeweizen-styled Ale, this This Seasonís Blonde beauty is a Wheat Ale, however it does have some notable differences to our favorite Hefeweizen. First and foremost, where Smuggler Wheat is a cloudy, yeasty, and nutrient-rich ale, This Seasonís Blonde is served clear, with playful carbonation leading to wonderful head and beautiful lace along the side of your pint glass. This Seasonís Blonde goes down dangerously easily, but you wonít be disappointed! We have been told by our local regulars that This Seasonís Blonde is a bit more floral, citrusy, and generally Ďhoppyí than Smuggler Wheat, which the Aspen Brew Crew agrees with Ė though donít be scared, its not bitter like Independence Pass Ale or Conundrum Red.

Can from Hazelís beverage world. Golden color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, toast, grass and bread. Bitter finish with hops, citrus and toast. Good brew, although itís closer to pilsner than blond ale in my opinion.

Shaker pint draft at Matsuhisa in Aspen, Colorado. The pour is clear golden yellow with a smallish white head. The aroma is toast wheat grain, lemon citrus and a general grassiness. The taste is the nose, with decent balance between the wheat character, soft lemon citrus and finishing with the grass. The palate is light bodied with coarse carbonation. Finish is dry and grass. Decent, worked fine with Japanese.

Can. Pours clear yellow gold with quickly settling white head, some stringy lace. Aroma is very sweet, banana, wheat, hay. Flavor is strong banana, very sweet, with a wheaty, cereal malt finish. Medium-light body and juicy texture.

Can. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers), with notes of gum, candy, butter. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Surprisingly sweet with kind of a dumb sugary/candyish nose. Not horrible but really clunky.

12 oz pour out of the superior package is clear golden with a white head. Do you like corn and tomato soup in your beer? A dms bomb. Can barely get past it. Very light-bodied and goes down quickly, but that is the only way to get through this beer. Very flawed. Bummer.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2013 Initial rating 10-19-13, Pour out of 12 oz can, clear yellow-orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of slight corn, grain, biscuit, slight veggie and dms note in there as well, hints of spice. Taste is a mix of spice, grain, some hints of grass, bread, slight veggie, finishing bitter, spicy, and dry. The colder it was the better, the less veggies you got overall. Rerate out of 12 oz can, 12-19-13, no veggies or dms, bready, yeasty notes, some grassy, spicy notes, pretty decent, but no wheat character.

Can @ Aaronís basement. Clear golden pour with a white head. Watery nose. Some grass, some pale malt, and grain. A slight celery note. Flavor is bland and watery. Grass, celery, pale malt, and grain. Meh.

Can @ home picked up in Glenwood Springs. Pours a fairly clear golden orange appearance with a fluffy, off white head. Quite pale grainy malty, light wheat, dry herbal aroma. Lemon, chewy earthy, light veggie, quite dry and grainy flavor. Seems like this is supposed to be a simple easy drinking beer but itís still off.
