3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is SERIOUSLY hoppy with evergreen and yeasty undertones. It pours an appealing, if typical, clear amber with a fairly thick off-white head that leaves some good lacing. Flavor is strongly hoppy and quite bitter, with just a hint of grapefruit. Texture is smooth, tingly, just a teensy slimy, about average for a double IPA. This is not the best double IPA I have ever consumed, but it is worthy of at least a try. Look for it.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
22 oz bottle. Where do I begin, this beer is wrong on so many levels. Admittedly I am very bias towards PNW IIPAís and this doesnít come close. The aroma is funky and the only way I can explain it is stale fruit. Flavor is better, but there is still a unidentifiable taste, but there is some herb/earthy notes. I expect my IIPAís to be supercharged with hops that leave a huge bitterness on the palate, and this one fails. Nice try Texas, this is a flop.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not good. But hey, what do you expect from Texas? They like their beer pale, stale and cold. Pours a copper with clouds, with rusty head. Nose is vegetables, and flavor is not to sweet (which is good) and not too dry, but has that old celery flavor that reminds you of wilted vegetables that had been sitting in your fridge for a week.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours golden with some light orange and tall, thick off-white head that slowly fades leaving craters in the pillowing foam and sticky lace. Nose of hay, pine, malt, earth and spice. Malty taste similar to nose. Full bodied with little signs of 9.2%, but missing the citrus I was hoping for. Still, not bad.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours slight hazy copper with a good, foamy off-white head. Think Iím getting resin/pine aroma. Med body. Flavor is light caramel with a lot of bitter hop, which seems to be a fruity/floral thing mixed with some nasty resin. Whatever, it is marvelously hoppy. Itís tending towards dry and astringent in the finish. Makes my mouth want to just curl up around it. Damn itís bitter. Good stuff.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
22 oz. bottle. Pours a thin off white head, over a cloudy apricot amber (SRM 8) body.....nose is caramel/toffee, apricot, pineapple, peach, lime, and grass....taste is a fruit cocktail to start with peach, apricot both represented, then a lighter bitter finish, sweetness lingered throughout, accompanied by vegetable tones.....mouth feel is medium, carbonation medium and adds fizz. This is a strange yet simple rendition of a DIPA. The simple malt layers are not adequately balanced by the hops, which in themselves add little complexity. The vegetable tones may be from the Warrior. This is a style which has been mastered by many breweries. This is not one of them. BJCP 6/2/12/4/6
