3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Jtclockwork. Pours hazy copper with white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, sweet caramel malts, and hops. Flavors of sweet caramel malts, bitter hops, citrus, and some booze. Finishes with sweet and sugary. Not bad but not my favorite type of iipa.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours burnt orange with a moderate white head that lasts forever and leaves tons of lace. Aroma of wood, grapefruit, orange juice, earth, and dirt. Flavor of caramel, earth, grapefruit, pine, earth/dirt, and burnt biscuits. Finishes bitter with grapefruit, orange juice, burnt biscuits and ash, with substantial bitterness. Medium-heavy bodied, ample carbonation and not much alcohol presence, I’d say the palate is pretty sound here. Unfortunately, the hop aroma and flavor seem tame despite the bitterness as if they’re not as fresh as they should be. Oh well, this is still a good effort that Rahr brewed and clearly fits into their line of beers as the IIPA counterpart to Stormcloud.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle back from Nashville. Pours a pretty nice looking dark copper. Much to like in the malt profile with a lot of caramel and sweetness. and body. Aroma has a tinge of citrus pungent character. Hope profile with the flavor is a little muted at first and resiny pine. The finish comes on much stronger though and has a huge resin and pine mostly pine character to it. Not my favorite hop profile and a little tinge of rubbing alcohol but the malt character makes up for that a little bit.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A-pours a dark cloudy amber color with a thin tan head.
S-the nose is strong in caramel malts, brown sugar, and hints of candied fruit. light juicy citrus and notes of herbal hop in back but very faint.
T-the taste follows the nose, rich malts and subtle hops behind. haylike herbal hops and faint bit of juicy citrus, lots of caramel malts, syrupy, and brown sugar.
M-full bodied, chewy and syrupy with low carbonation and a slick finish.
D-all malt, not really the hop presence I would like to see. less hops than a fresh bigfoot. not offensive, but in no way good.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(22oz bottle thanks to Exiled) clear rich orange, nice tight film of white bubbles. Nose of candi sugar, earthy, celery. Taste of bitter grapefruit, grapes, citrus oils, oily body bitter linger. A bit syrupy but remains tropical which I tend to like in DIPAs.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 22 oz bomber. Pours a somewhat lifeless murky dark orange with a very slight off-white head. Aroma has heavy doses of ripening vegetable funkiness, some syrupy sweetness. Flavor is oversweet and cloying. Way too much crystal malt and not enough hops. Flavor is dominated by maple syrupy sweetness. Almost like a bad homebrew. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Not one for the ages.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer pours an amber with a thick white head. The aromas are grass, dough and light flowers. The mouthfeel is sticky and dry with a bitterness. Not bad but not great either. Cheers!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A crystal clear cinnamon colored beer with light carbonation seen. A pillowy off white head slowly collapses in on itself. Nose of grassy and pine hops plus caramel. Flavor is what has become standard for this style and this is pretty much down the middle per style. Big hops and big caramel. Those hops are pine with a bit of pepper. Alcohol is not really tasted. That is a plus but it is still much to high. Despite an unfortunate name this is a pretty good beer that will appeal to many.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz Bottle. I saw the bottle and had to try it. Poured a clear dark copper with a small head. Aroma & taste are what I would expect from a DIPA: citrus, pine, fresh fruits, solid malt foundation. Medium body, nice bite in the finish. Overall a good beer - nothing new, but still a solid DIPA.
