2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazy golden body and an off-white head. Aromas of canned pineapple, caramel, alcohol, pine, sticky, straw, manure, citrus (orange). I can already tell this is going to be underattenuated by the aroma. Flavors of cotton candy, straw, bitter (really bitter) with no hop flavors backing it up. Caramel, plastic, grass, canned pineapple. Not a well made IPA. Lively bubbles, big body. Cut the crystal malts and increase the knock out additions and dry hopping.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
My Bottom Line :
This heavily honeyed Double IPA barely has enough room to showcase its citrusy and spicy hops; Blond Barley Wine, perhaps. Double IPA? A very sweet one, if that.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy sheet of foam protects the misty honeyed gold.
-The tame carbonation makes the residual sugars feel heavier than they are; that, and the lack of presence in flavour and bitterness.
-The flavour profile is clean throughout, and this is rather drinkable. But the Double IPA billing makes this brew ultimately disappointing.
-Simplicity is often refreshing, but in this case sweetness smothers it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from State Line. Pours turbid orangy with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, tropical fruit, tangerine, orange, hops, peppery notes, and some florals. Tastes rich, pretty thick and sticky and resiny, with flavors of tropical fruit including tangerine and pineapple, and a big malt bill to mathc the hops. Finishes floral and peppery, and has a decent complexity.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle: Pours a bright copper orange with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny grapefruity hop nose with some soft sweet caramel malty balance. Starts with good body and sweet light maltiness well-balanced with fresh juicy resiny hop flavor. Finishes crisp and bittersweet, hiding the alcohol well. An enjoyable double IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This brew pours a hazy orange color with a medium thin foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, hops and citrus. Medium body with flavors of mildly bitter hops, citrus and sweet malt. The finish is caramel malt up front with a short hoppy aftertaste. Not really a IIPA in my opinion, slightly above average for the style though if that is what they are calling it.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Poured translucent coppery-orange with a short-ish off-white head. The aroma picked up warm caramel, honey, and a little fruity sweetness with mild earth and floral hoppage around.. quite mild in the hop department, but still enjoyable. The flavor found honey and molasses sweetness at the core.. mild-to-moderate pine and citrusy bitterness around.. rougher on the finish, picking up a blend of booze and residual, resiny bitterness. Medium-bodied and a bit rough on the palate.. not something I’d want another of.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at a tasting. A very hard beer to rate. Less hoppy than most Double IPAs, but extremely tasty. Pours clear amber with off white head. Nose of malts, malts, and more malts with pineapple, citrus, maple and nuts. Taste is nutty and malty, with hops, citrus, maple and caramel.

Bottle. Amber beer with a light tan head. Caramel and earth aroma with light pine and light citrus. Pine and grapefruit flavor with caramel, earth, and some aspirin notes. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Pine and grapefruit linger with caramel, earth, and aspirin.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear deep copper with nice off white head. The aroma is muted earthy citrus and mildly moldy notes of degraded vegetation. The taste is a modest mix of pine, citrus hops and sweet mildly roasty malts. The malts persist and mingle with the hop bitterness and then fade into the finish helping to buoy up the lightly hoppy IPA qualities of this beer. This is pretty far from a IIPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours copper with a thin off white head. Smells of melon, grapefruit, resiny. Tastes of resin, peppery, caramel, spicy with a slightly astringent finish. Not as hop forward as I’d expect out of a IIPA.
