4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Ttrunk (52) - California, USA - APR 13, 2013
This was a delightful beer with a lot of floral aroma. Nice bitter hoppy flavor. My wife is pregnant and on bed rest so I have not enjoyed a great microbrew in awhile.

Bottle from Swords at the VM. Great beer, dominated by malts and yeast. Aromas of caramel and bread, with hints of citrus. Taste is sweet, with light bitter notes, and long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Orange, with a frothy head.

Maltier than most double IPAs I’ve had. Hazy coloration, brownish, but spicy and hopped to hell. Nice. Tried in Lawrence, 3/13/2011 with a group of friends in the little yellow house on W 23rd.

Orange and tan color with nice foam. Great Citrus Pine nose. Rich malt on the palate with citrus hop finish that is real clean. Poured from 22oz and also 12oz.

Bottle shared at a tasting. A very hard beer to rate. Less hoppy than most Double IPAs, but extremely tasty. Pours clear amber with off white head. Nose of malts, malts, and more malts with pineapple, citrus, maple and nuts. Taste is nutty and malty, with hops, citrus, maple and caramel.

Pours a cloudy copper with a robust off-white head and lots of lacing. Nose of pine and floral hops. Medium to heavy body and a very resin mouthfeel. Downright sticky. Flavor is full of bitter hops, and some fruit. Dry bitter finish. Really good
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Onslow (935) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JUN 26, 2011
Pour from a 22 oz bottle. Cloudy medium amber brew iwth ample and persistent head. Nice aroma of bready malts, caramel, and piney hops. Taste is nicely balnaced between lightly sweet caramel hops at the start transitioning to a well hopped finish. Citrus, pine, and generally bitter hops in the finish merge nicely with the general maltiness. Full bodied with a satisfying palatte. This is quite good.

22oz bottle: Pours a bright copper orange with a spotty-lacing white head. Has a fresh resiny grapefruity hop nose with some soft sweet caramel malty balance. Starts with good body and sweet light maltiness well-balanced with fresh juicy resiny hop flavor. Finishes crisp and bittersweet, hiding the alcohol well. An enjoyable double IPA.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 unclemattie (3735) - Georgia, USA - APR 9, 2011
22oz bottle, from Whole Foods. Orange color, thick white foam. Nice aroma of fresh grapefruit. I happened to eat one this morning. A bit of malt. Flavor of soap, caramel malts, and strong bitter hops. Very bitter in the finish. This is what I expect any Double IPA to base its flavor profiles on. Just right to character. Drink it fresh, don’t see any age doing this one good.
