4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A dark body with a foamy brown head. The aroma is mainly smoke and coffee, with some more subtle malt and chocolate notes. The flavor is more coffee and chocolate, with the smoke making up the remainder and taking over on the aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours almost black with a medium, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee with hints of dark fruit and smoke. Flavors of roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits and smoke. A hint of hops towards the finish. The smoke flavor is a little artificial and the finish is a bit too sweet.

Bottle from a trip to the beach in the panhandle - I think Chanís in Destin. Aroma is meaty smoke. Tastes are ashy roasty malts, vanilla, cocoa and smoke. Iím not a smoke brew fan, but drinkable enough. Bitter coffee through the finish.

Special thanks to drowland who traded this with Cletus - a beer with my name on it! Dark brown pour, nice frothy off-white head. Solid smoked flavor with some sweet smoked sausage flavor, some background chocolate notes with a tobacco like finish. Thick enough mouthfeel. Overall solid.

11/2/11. 22oz bomber courtesy Cletus that I shared with none other than PorterPounder himself! Dark brown pour with a nice khaki head that fades. Smokey bacon aroma with roast and chocolate - almost like chocolate bacon. Sweet, malty flavor at first, a bit of caramel and chocolate, and lingering campfire smokiness. Not bad!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle... dark brown with a light tan head, not much retention but a good among of lace... a straight forward smoked porter, tons of smoke bordering on ashy though, a touch of salted pork a little chocolate, good but needs to be taken down a touch on the char to be world class.... the taste is a bit harsh, the smoke is char, the coffee bitter, the pork less pronounced, if it was stronger would have balanced better, molasses malt more than any chocolate... a pretty solid stout that I would have again, make sure it warms up quite a bit though!

Pretty much black beer. Pours with a 4 inch head but goes to 1/8 inch before you start drinking it. The aroma is of burnt wood and smoke. The flavor is dark, malty, bitter, and chocolately. Thereís plenty of flavor. Drink it when itís cold. Heavy white lacing. Coffee-like finish.

Bottle. Black pour with a medium, foamy tan head. Aroma is mainly roasted malt but the smokiness is there. There is also a pleasant coffee note and hints of dark chocolate. Taste exudes much more of the smoke presence. Big roasted malt as well. Thereís more coffee notes, dark chocolate and smoked meat notes. Body is medium with a bubbly, dense carbonation. Ends with more smoked malt, roasted malt notes, dark, oily coffee, bittersweet chocolate and hints of smoked, processed meats.
