The Ass Kisser Porter Pounder is a dark, rich balanced ale that is smooth and yet structured with light coffee and mocha aromas. The subtle smoky aroma lures your palate to sip through the dark tan head. Enjoy with grilled and spiced foods. Formerly brewed at Rahr (at 8.03%).

Bottle. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Roasty aroma with some light smokey notes and a hint of sweetness. The flavor has smoked and roasted malts, light coffee, and light sweet malts. Solid.

Bottle from kings. The appearance is clear yet reddish brown and dark. It also forms a solid off-white color.

The aroma is quite smoky and beefy. One whiff of this and your stomach will growl. There is a large chocolate malt aroma also. Smells pretty nice.

Flavor is roasted malts, dry bitter and a dark bakers chocolate. It finishes fairly roasty. Ok I’m down with this.

Very dark reddish brown, brownish beige head. Lightly smokey aroma, with a bit of chocolate in the background. Flavor is not as smokey as I was expecting, but still plenty of smoke. Chocolate and coffee, as well, with notes of vanilla coming through as it warms. Not bad.

Black with a large tan head. Aroma is very smoky, reminiscent of good smoked meat. Flavor is fairly intense smoke front with a sweet backing. Mouthfeel could be a bit thicker though, not bad but not the best smoked porter out there.

651mL thanks to nmann08. The pour is a clear, deep brown to amber with not much retention or lace from the khaki head. Nose is smoked bacon, ham, mild coffee. Not super oily bacon Beechwood smoke but very nice regardless. Taste is lemon tart, ham, astringent coffee. Not a good combo. Palate is soapy, cardboard, carbon paper, ash. Ick.

Bomber bottle from halls liquor. Pours black with a large tan head that dissipates quickly. The aromas are smoke, bacon, coffee, chocolate. The mouthfeel is bitter, roasty, and slightly watery with a heavy body. I really liked this one as the smoke doesn’t overtake the beer. Cheers!

Bottle shared by nmann08: Pours a transparent deep dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel malty nose with lots of complex smokiness. Starts with good chewy sweetness and light roasty bitterness with good smoke flavor throughout. Finishes drier, and semi-sweet with some lingering smokiness. A nicely balance and complex smoked porter.
