Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours hazy orange with a few chunks - I like chunks. Nice sour apple skin aroma. Fairly sour and definitely astringent. It is not sweet. It’s right in there with a good saison or farmhouse ale. Aftertaste is pretty much apple skin with a little cooked apple. Very good cider.

Bottle (barrel 10; bottled April 29, 2005) from Healthy Spirits. Typical Spanish Cider nasty looking sediment at the bottle. Poured at the usual height. A minimal white head with a lasting ring over a hazed golden body. Aromas of lambic like acidity, funk, a bit of rubber cement, barnyard, wood and a huge amount of acid. Some complex floral and estery notes. Flavors are very sour! Tons of acid, heartburningly so. Throat burn. Lemon, floral notes. Again a sort of rubber, industrial flavor that sort of detracts from the overall experience. Floral and horsey a bit of pineapple acidity. Like a good sour ale. Thin body though. Medium to light carbonation.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUL 3, 2006
Pours still with a hazy yellow/peach color, no head, carbonation or lacing. The nose is 50/50 tart and funky with sweet distant fresh fruit. The flavor is more tart with a very dry and dusty horse blanket character. Nice, I can picture a fine basque chick(a) pouring this from 4 feet high or something the way they do it in all the ciderias over there in spain.

(330ml bottled 4-29-05 thanks to bu11zeye) cloudy pale yellow. Nose is funky, bit acetone, farm, lemon, apple, vinegar and tartness. Taste of sour apple, a bit of vinegar and mild acetone, a bit old but holding up nicely. Chewable vitamin taste dominates the linger as well as some olive saltiness.
