Oakes (6771), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 25, 2007 Hazy but vibrant golden-red. Abundant tropical fruit nose (mango, grapefruit) with light orange and wood notes. Really rich...massive resiny, woody hops with grapefruit, mango and lemon signature and a healthy dose of earthy, breadcrusty crystal malts. Drinks pretty easy for 9.6%, no wonder that growler got me tipsy. Dartagnan (9), USA does not count Jul 13, 2007 I didn’t notice too much hop aroma but after one sip the hops hit you hard. Extremely hoppy and intense carbonation. The IPA was everything you’d expect from the name. Angeloregon (1464), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 2, 2007 Poured on tap at Belmont Station. Glowing orange copper body with frizzy white dome. Nose quite spicy and floral. Big bitter bite. Left some of my taste buds in tact. Very nice over the top hop appeal. Nothing to bitch about here. bhensonb (2670), Woodland, California, USA Jun 9, 2007 Strong hop aroma. Perhaps a combo of floral and pine. Possibly citrus lurks. Really nice smell. Very hazy deep amber color with a white head that quickly filmed. The hop flavor is strong and mixed, at the start. I vote for pine and floral. Light carbonation. Full bodied. Good malt backbone. Dry, bitter finish. Leaves the mouth redolent of pine. Perhaps a bit of citrus sour at the back of the mouth. SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA May 12, 2007 On tap at Belmont Station: Pours with a 1 finger diminishing white head and a muddy orange color. Good aroma of complex citrus fruits and some floral notes. Flavor is malty and bitter with some grapefuity character. Very clean bitterness and fairly balanced but definitely hop forward.
