hoptimist (99) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 18, 2010
Growler into Imperial pint. BIG grapefruit citrus and resin hop nose. Nice caramel malt to balance. Crystal clear copper-orange, off white persistent head that leaves nice lacing. Medium caramel malt sweetness and a medium high resin and citrus bitterness. One second of malt on attack that is blown out by the hop rush that follows. Long bitter finish. Fairly dry, a touch of alcohol warmth. Medium body, assertive carbonation, cricky! Solid.

raphael (745) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Big hop aroma, woody with citrus, & caramel. But the flavor a bit narrower, harsh hops, not quite grapefruit not quite aluminum, hops implied cause this doesn’t get fully nasty. Slightly hazy dark amber w/ a real creamy head.

DuffMan (5183) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 14, 2010
On tap at the brewpub, also sampled at the Spring Beer Fest in Portland. Hazy red-orange with an orange-tinted head. Intensely hoppy aroma featuring citrus rind and mango, some coniferous undertones. Earthy toffee malt supports a rich bath of hop character: lots of tropical fruit and resin. Heavy mouthfeel, oily, with an intensely bitter finish. So good!

Dogbrick (5990) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 12, 2010
Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a hazy ruddy orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Citrusy hops aroma with notes of honey and pine. Medium body with a moderately hoppy character with piney and citrusy notes, along with sweet malt and honey in the background. The finish is hoppy with a tart citrus aftertaste. Pretty good all around, almost like Hopslam’s younger brother.

FROTHINGSLOSH (3947) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 2, 2010
Portland trip. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a hazy caramel color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was strong sweet pineapple and grapefruit. The flavor was strong and crisp bitter grapefruit that had great oomph and a solid undertone of brown sugary. Long bitter hoppy finish. Fairly full bodied. Excellent.

On tap at Hood River Hopfest ’09. Colour... cloudy orange with a thick head. Nose... very hoppy and rather astringent. Palate... Whoa! Bitter! Bitchy! Tangy! And a lengthy pine-like finish, to boot!

Beardface (1509) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - SEP 9, 2009
Growler from the brewery. At 13 bucks, not a bad deal! Poured a deep amber with a big old fluffy white head that leaves nice lacing on the glassware. Aroma is citrus and pine hops with a notable marijuana note as well. Flavor was citrus, pine, caramel malt and weed. Solid beer, I probably didn’t need to drink that much of it in one go, but what can you do?

Tap @ OBF... Poured amber/burnt orange with a thick, white head. Nice hoppy aroma. Big hops up front with a little bit of grains and much noticeable alcohol. Had a malty finish.
