Almost a perfect Dortmunder without coming from Dortmund. Stylish balance between malt and hops force crispy shades. Full of flavor, but also very easy drunk.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Martinus (1878) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 2, 2011
Reddish amber colour, white head. Malty aroma, light sour, apples, caramel, quite pronounced hops. Reminds of a Speciale Belge with more hops. Malty sweet flavour, light sour touch. Quite OK.
(From 33cL bottle @ local bar, Oranienburgerstr., Berlin)
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Panzerfaust (539) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - DEC 4, 2011
Looks nice in the glass with a clear amber colour and a medium white head that stays for a moment and then diminishes leaving a lacing.
Aroma is very malty as the style suggests with notes of rye bread, barley, seeds, camomille and grains. Fine and clean.
Taste reveals itself very quickly with a fresh herbal bitterness and an even stronger malty finish. Lots of grains and cereal. A very solid flavor but a bit one dimensional.
Body is light to medium with a lively carbonation. This is a nice beer, one of the good commercial examples of the style.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 OleR (4248) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 31, 2012
0.33 L bottle. Thanks Jack!. Pours dark gold to pale amber. Low and dense lacing white head. A whiff of clean lightly toasted malt to the nose. Tones of husk and straw. Semi-dry malt flavor. Clean, with grassy and hayish hops to support. A wee alcohol-sweetness. Otherwise, a well balanced and tasty lager.
