2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a murky golden orange color with brown hues and dark golden orange hints when held to a light source. Two finger frothy, soapy white head that quickly fades into a lasting ring. Sporadic chunks of lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with hints of bready yeast, earthy hops, caramel malt, butter and toffee. Slightly toasty with a subtle funky presence. The earthy character is a bit much and it smells kind of like dirt/soil.
Fuller bodied than expected with some soft carbonation up front followed by a dry, bitter earthy hop flavor which is a bit stale. The malt backbone isn’t as strong as I expected or hoped for. Slightly toasted caramel malt with subtle hint of rye, bready yeast, toffee and butter. Not very well balanced with an odd solvent alcohol astringency and an unpleasant metallic finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
an amber ale that despite the super cool packaging wasnt really anything special. some of the toasty grain notes and mildy brown sugar notes are there, along with a mild hoppiness. but otherwise not really that interesting, though better than some ambers ive had.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft. Pours a clear amber color with a beige head that lingers nicely. Not too impressed with the aroma or flavor on this one as both seemed to be quite subdued. It did have a crisp, clean finish making it easy to drink but not very exciting.

Bottle. Copper pour, white carbonation. Toasted bread, caramel, earth, cookie, mild bitterness on the finish, which leans drier. Medium body, balanced carbonation, easy. Sessionable amber ale, simple and tasty.
