4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Cybercat (1898) - Georgia, USA - MAY 28, 2011
Pours a beautiful clear amber with a thick, yellowish, light tan head that sticks around - very appealing for any beer, and superior to nearly all amber ales. Aroma is crisp and malty with fruity and hoppy underpinnings. Pleasing flavor is mainly malty and has hints of fruit - mainly apple - and hops, with just a touch of bitterness. Texture is quite fizzy and lively. This is one of the best amber ales I’ve ever had. I have downed this before, but didn’t realize how good it is - maybe because previously I’ve had it only from a bottle.

At a tiny tasting in my home, bottle, in opening of the bottle exited smoke, pours cloudy bright orange with a very small head that dissipates quickly, nicely carbonated, fruity, hoppy and sweet aroma, dry, bitter, slightly smoked and twist aftertaste, medium noticeable body, and overall an excellent beer.

Really nice amber ale. The beer smells of bready and caramel malt citrus hops in the orange range. The beer is a hazy deep gold to orange with a big dense white head. The beer tastes of bead, caramel and orange hops. There is also some light butter like richness. The body is medium with an incredible smoothness. Very good.

12oz bottle. Pale orange-tan with a steady, frothy head. Dry cherry amber malt and piny citrus hop aroma. A pretty respectable Amber Ale. Solid hop backbone shows. Subtle vanilla tones, not unlike Dead Guy. On the fuller side of medium bodied. OK, well balanced.

I kinda thought this would be terrible but it wasn’t! Popped the crown with a loud pop, poured almost as a gusher, with a huge foaming head, thick meringue like texture sticking out of the glass and holding its shape. Took forever to pour. Clean caramel bready malts, light grassy hops. Clean overall approach, fairly done although heavy on the carbonation.

Bottle: color, ,more orange then amber, almost no head, in the aroma, honey, caramel, malt, oranges, citrusy hops. in the flavor. more hoppy bitterness, less malty, less caramel and honey, oranges as well, orange marmalade, rose petals jam, body is light, too light, hoppy dry finish and aftertaste, a nice hoppy amber ale.
