Bottle. Copper pour, white carbonation. Toasted bread, caramel, earth, cookie, mild bitterness on the finish, which leans drier. Medium body, balanced carbonation, easy. Sessionable amber ale, simple and tasty.

12oz bottle, I forget the date but a fresh sample.

Pours clear light amber with a two finger off white head that leaves nice cobwebs of lacing and holds a small cap.

Aroma is pretty typical for an Amber, a little fruity, a little caramel, a little nutty, some light floral and grassy hops. Good strength.

Flavor is caramel malt, light fruits, light citrus hops, somewhat sweet, moderate bitterness, little to no alcohol.

Mouthfeel is on the light side of medium, a bit oily, medium carbonation.

A solid Amber Ale, but nothing spectacular.

poured into a pint glass on tap. Pours a medium amber color with a small head. nice aromas of malts and some hops. While on the simple side, it is nice with solid depth. Medium bodied with a decent and smooth feel. A bit lacking on the mid with some flavors of malts and blood oranges. A nice brew. Very drinkable and pretty straight forward.

Amber colored pour. Big off-white head. Plenty of lacing. A nice toasted bready aroma. Taste is a big malt forward beer with just a hint of bitter in the end. Very good and drinkable.

On tap at the brewery in 2011 (from notes). Crystal clear orange, amber, with a small, near-white head. Nice medium toasted malt aroma. Some citrus hops appear upon tasting. Medium body with good carbonation. A tasty beer that could serve as a good introduction to craft brews.

16 ounce pint - $4.50 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia. The first official pint of Atlanta Brewing’s revived and reformulated Laughing Skull poured at this location from a handle-less ta. It’s been more than a few years since we’ve last seen Laughing Skull. The last encounter I recall, was when I lived within walking distance of their previous location on William Street. Heck, I may even have a well-worn LS shirt around here somewhere. Appearance: Served up a crystal clear, appropriately amber-hued body with a thinnish, near white head. Though thin, it is lasting and provides for some nice lacing. Smell: Offers a modest nose smelling lightly of toasty amber malts, a vague hint of fruit, and some spicy, herbaceous hop notes. Taste: Toasty, sweetish flavor of amber malts with a background hint of light brown sugar. A little blip of fruitiness passes by now and again. A touch of crisp graininess arrives late in the taste. Earthy, spicy, lightly zesty hop character but with only a subdued bitterness. Beyond a small, final hint of toast, Laughing Skull finishes quite clean and dry. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation. Drinkability: I recall the old Laughing Skull performing well in terms of ease of drinkability, and this new rendition definitely follows in its footsteps.

12oz bottle. back in tap and bottles. ABC has been busy lately. pours a clear burnt orange under a medium sized frothy white head. toasty, malty cereal aroma. a brightly carbonated palate with a light body. the flavors are of light bittering hops, a hint of toasted malt (peanuts) and a good bit of pale malt. finishes with a simple refreshing floral stamp. would go nice with a hearty meal. i am suddenly craving a burger with fresh red onions on top. this one really grew on me by the time i finished the bottle. i am upset i only bought a single and that i don’t have any ground beef around.

12 oz. bottle. Nice blend of hop/malt flavoring. The color is somewhat typical of an amber ale. The flavor leans toward a red, with a nutty taste. Very dry. Easy drinking.

Bready maltys with traces of caramel and hints of piney hops. Pours a light golden amber with a thin white head. Solid amber ale, malty with a solid hop backbone. Nothing too exciting though, but a nice session.
