Light amber color, very carbonated and generous wheat colored head which dissipated evenly. Very sweet upon first sip which gradually fades and reveals its stronger character. The Pineau des Charentes & Cognac are very well balanced with the beer leaving a lasting, overall pleasant taste in the mouth. Palate is warming, very much like a cognac or spirit, which I beleive, is what the artisans were after. Like most on this site, I have to confess this is good but not something I’ll get regularly. crushinat0r (227), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 10, 2007 Pours a nice golden colour, with a creamy white head. Aroma of grapes and tin. The flavor is sweet and fruity, like desert wine, with notes of malts. The palat is well carbonated, but syrupy and sticky. Not a great beer, probably won’t buy again. tomthompson89 (1494), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours golden clear with plenty of carbonation. Even gently pour create large massive head that leaves decent lacing behind. 3,5/5
Fresh mineral accented, sweet grainy with light hint of vanilla. Over green grapes and some hops.
Medium bodied with oily texture. Slightly sour, acidic middle. Light vanilla flavour sweetened with malt. Lacking crispness. Crudely summarizing oily lager with grape juice that could be decent niche product.

Mixed fruit and malt flavour, medium bodied, a zesty fruit sweetness, pleasant tongue tingle, average. MrManning (1662), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 18, 2007 This pours sparkling gold into the chalice. The head and lacing is cloud white, and looks very creamy. Pineapple aroma, musty basement, tropical fruit, lots of yeast. This is very sweet. A sipping beer for sure. Lots of sweet fruit juice, pineapple, pretty yeasty, sugar, a touch of sauvignon blanc. This is too sweet for me to have any more than one, and it is a bit of an effort. I can see the use for this, but it does not appeal to me.
