Perm (151), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2008 From old notes.
Bottle, May 2005.
Granted, I was on my honeymoon, so everything tasted great. Brought a bottle back from Maine to savor later, and had the same experience again, so it must have been quality.
Marked as the best blueberry ale I’ve had. Not too over-the-top fruity, not too sweet. Very well balanced, with a wheaty twist. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pours a perfect amber, 1 inch head, goes to nothing fast enough. Lottle of bubbling. Blueberry aroma. Tastes like blueberry pancakes in the morning. What a stupendousbeer for breakfast. A wonderous substitute. Flavor is a little sweet (artificially?). Flat slightly bready finish. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 25, 2008 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of KAggie97. Slightly hazy deep golden with an off-white head. Somewhat chemical fruit aroma. Medium body with sweet, berry-like fruit accents and a somewhat astringent, chemical finish. 160408 KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Apr 17, 2008 Cloudy deep amber with tiny off white head. Sweet fruity aroma with malty and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with berry and malty notes. Ends sweet. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 17, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours slight hazy orange with a fully diminished white head. Blueberry and dry woody aroma. Flavour is dry blueberry and light malty note. Dry and light bitter finish. gringo332 (236), Richardson, Texas, USA Apr 12, 2008 Nothing special. First aroma is good. I just tast like plain ole beer though. Go else where for good beer JCB (1713), Durham, North Carolina, USA Mar 30, 2008 Enjoyed several of these with a friend in Cleveland. Not a bad brew, especially given I don’t generally care for the style. Looks like a basic hoppy amber beer, and it’s got quaffability in that area for sure. But the blueberry is hard to miss, in the nose and in the taste. Thankfully, it’s somewhat subtle. Good to knock back but nothing that lingers in the memory. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Mar 11, 2008 12oz bottle, notched Best enjoyed before: February ’08. Clear auburn with a 1/2 finger light beige head that slowly faded to a ring and thin film after a minute. Aroma of blueberry pancakes, but not quite as sweet as them. Flavor added a bit of a citric tang and caramel malt notes. Semi dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 2. Moderate prickly carbonation with a medium body. A fairly simple beer with no glaring faults. Dark Horse Tres kicks this one in the butt.
